Massive Architecture collaborated closely with James Carson Construction on the careful expansion of Spot White, a well-known pool and snooker bar in Newcastle. The building, which is locally listed, is situated within a conservation area and near the medieval walls, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. We provided comprehensive architectural services, including planning, building regulations, and construction information, ensuring the design respected the site's historic significance while enhancing the venue's capacity.

Throughout the project, concept visuals and interactive walkthroughs were developed to help the client and contractor visualize the scheme and coordinate services.

The expansion doubled the bar’s size, introducing bespoke joinery details in the whisky lounge, custom VIP spaces, and unique Venetian plaster finishes. The project successfully balanced modern elements with the bar's established character, contributing to its continued popularity as a late-night destination.
